According to the Nicolet grounds crew – the softball field is more mud than anything else and would not dry out by tonight – so NO softball practice tonight. Keep your fingers crossed for next week.

The Outdoor Games tournament was held last Satuday and Sunday July 30th and July 31st. We celebrate all of our atheletes who competed in Track and Field, Swimming, Bocce and Softball. Check out the results and pictures/videos.
Summer is nearly over and that means it’s off to the Special Olympics Wisconsin 2022 State Celebration Sports Tournament at Carroll University and nearby sites in Waukesha. Competition for bocce, track, swim, and softball will be held on Saturday, July 30-Sunday, July 31, 2022 . Remember that a light rain will NOT cancel the tournament. If the tournament is cancelled, we will have the information on the hotline 414-327-1016. Bocce and track are on campus; softball is at Saratoga; swimming is at Waukesha South High School.
We will NOT have a bus this year – please plan your ride and be aware of travel/parking time needed. Bocce and softball teams play on both days, and almost all track and swim athletes also compete on both days; schedule information is included with this information. You may leave the site after you are done competing, make sure you tell your coach that you are leaving.
As a COVID note = masks will be required in buildings. Lots of Healthy Athletes programs going on – check out the SOWI website for information.
We will be taking one softball team, 1 bocce team, 10 swim athletes and 9 track athletes, along with chaperons.
Parents, family and friends are encouraged to attend the competition and cheer. Good luck to everyone!

Due to the high heat and humidity, there will be NO bocce, tennis or softball practice this evening Monday, July 18th.
There will be no track practice tomorrow Tuesday, July 19th – supposed to be worse than today. There will be swim practice Tuesday, nice to be inside in the cooling water.
Congratulations to all! You did yourselves proud. Great playing and great sportsmanship.
The softball team, Sparks, took first place and will advance to the state games.
The bocce team, Tabbies, played well and we are proud of them, but they do not advance.
The bocce team, Tuxedos, also played well and did a great job. They took 2nd place and were selected in the lottery, so will advance to the state games.

So – mark July 30th-31st on your calendars. The above teams along with those swimmers and track athletes who are also advancing to state. Bocce, softball, track and swim competition at state will be on both days, so keep both days free. State is at Carroll University in Waukesha, and we will send out schedule as soon as they are available.

Plan on being at Heritage Park 30-45 minutes before your first game – game times can change. Hot or rainy weather may also affect the schedule.
Any updated competition information will be on the Hotline – 414-327-1016.
Directions: we will send out any directions after we receive them. One of the recommended routes was HWY 167 off of I41/45 (towards Holy Hill). However HWY 167 is being closed long term on July 11th. Hopefully we will receive the best routing info.
Uniforms: Softball – if possible, wear your own shorts, as this will save time in changing.
Bocce – wear your own black NSSO shorts and white NSSO t-shirts – the short and shirts with the shield design. You may wear slacks if you prefer.
Heritage Park is a new venue this year – we are unsure of the convenience of the changing area. After your last game/awards, change out of the uniforms provided and return the attire to the appropriate container.
It is important that each athlete bring the following items marked with their name and 8‑02.
* The black North Suburban duffle bag (or equivalent) to put your clothes in after changing into your uniforms. Put a name tag on your bag.
* Sunglasses, sunscreen and/or bugspray. (rain gear depending on the forecast)
* A refillable water bottle with athlete’s name on it.
* Softball – The North Suburban red baseball hat, if you have one (no hat with any logo can be worn).
* Softball – Baseball glove (each athlete should have their own) and bat, if you use your own. Your sport bag should also have a name label; do not go thru any other person’s bag. NSSO equipment is in it’s own bag, and a coach can help you find what you need.
Food may be purchased at the concession stand, or bring any snacks or meal that you will want – there is no free lunch.
We have no information available but assume that here are some bleachers at the diamonds, and no seating available near the bocce courts. It is recommended that you bring your own lawn chairs.
Remember that attendance and participation at this District tournament is mandatory to advance to state with the team if it advances and to continue to practice with any team that advances . Practices for all teams will continue the rest of the softball season even If a team does not advance to state.
