The following message was just received from the Regional office and affects athletes and spectators at this Saturday’s swim competition. Read carefully – but basically means MASKS are required at all times (athletes included except when swimming). Also – limited spectator space and spectators will NOT be allowed to join the athletes in the staging area.

Ok for swim as normal.
For track = unless something changes quickly, please have drivers wait around. It’s dry, which is a pleasant surprise, but not as warm as projected and that wind is strong and cold. So, like some of the other times, we may do some timing/measuring and then finish up early. Start at 6:30pm.

2022 DISTRICT AQUATICS COMPETITION
Saturday, April 30, 2022
9:00am to @ 3:00pm
YMCA at Pabst Farms
1750 Valley Road, Oconomowoc, 53066
Dear Swimmers and Volunteers:
Get ready for this year’s Special Olympics Wisconsin District Aquatics Competition. You have been training hard preparing for this event. Please arrive at 8:45am and check in with Bob or Kevin before proceeding to the locker room to change in time to have warm-up opportunity. Warm-up swim time is 9:00-9:30am; Opening at 9:45am, with competition starting immediately following.
Please bring the following in your black North Suburban bag (or equivalent):
- Swimsuit – wear your NSSO competition swimsuit, if you have one
- 2 towels
- A lock for the locker, if you use one
- Goggles and/or cap if you use them
- Flip-flops or shower shoes
- Money for lunch if you plan on eating, there is no lunch provided; you may bring your own snacks. Remember to eat ONLY after asking a coach when you should eat.
- It’s usually COOL in the staging area (gym); make sure you have a cover-up, sweater coat, pants, something, just in case. There are no chairs in the staging area – bring one if you plan on needing one to use for the day.
- DON’T FORGET TO TURN IN YOUR NAME BADGE TO A COACH BEFORE YOU LEAVE.
Volunteers – bring your enthusiasm and wear shorts and a t-shirt if you plan on being in the pool area since it gets very warm in that area.
Athletes – you may eat a light lunch sometime during the meet as determined appropriate by a coach, depending on the competition schedule – do not plan on eating a heavy meal. We suggest that the athletes eat a light meal before leaving home for the competition.
Parents and other spectators – space in the pool area is limited; so plan your schedule to be there in plenty of time to watch the events. As always, we cannot tell you an exact time when each event is being raced. If you have any questions, contact Kevin (262-894-5120 cell) or Linda (414-550-5357 cell).
AT THIS TIME SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED = this could change as COVID-19 numbers change almost daily.
Good Luck!!

A separate email will be sent out with information about the Regional swim competition on Saturday, April 30th at Oconomowoc.
Tuesday – TRACK practice at Brown Deer school – 6:30-7:30pm = there is a track meet on Wednesday, so our practice will be on Tuesday. Competition is on May 14; information not yet available.
Wednesday – soccer practice = should be at Brown Deer School – weather permitting. So far, no rain in the forecast, there will be an update emailed and/or on the Hotline if this should change. Competition is on May 14; information not yet available.
Hotline – 414-327-1016
Soccer – games at the Safety Academy, 6:30-8:00pm – next week probably outside on Wednesday; hopefully weather will cooperate.
No – track -rain and about mid-30’s with wind chill. Next week is Tuesday practice for track, an event at the school on Wednesday. 6:30-7:30pm; hopefully weather will cooperate.
With it being back to the 90% chance of rain at our practice time, and no shelter if it does start storming, there will be NO soccer tonight.
Soccer next Wednesday will be back at the Safety Academy and there will be games against Team Milwaukee on that evening.
Yes, it’s not raining now and the sun is sometimes shining, but I am being a true pessimist. Supposedly the rain is coming in early evening and with high winds, this makes the outside practices difficult.
Soccer will be at the Safety Academy tonight.
There will be no track practice tonight. We will be working with Brown Deer schools to see if there are any other nights available during the next couple of weeks – we might try to set up some other evenings for quick practices to get times, etc. in for competition. We will inform all of what we can get.
UPCOMING DATES – 2022 – MORE SPECIFIC INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE CLOSER TO THE DATES; most practice dates are NOT included here. Due to fewer competitors, we are not planning on having a bus to Muskego for the track/soccer competitions. If you are willing to help with a carpool, please let Kevin or Linda know.

Rain, rain, rain doesn’t always work on our schedule.
So tomorrow, the 6th CALL THE HOTLINE AFTER 3:30pm. It will be updated as to location of soccer and weather track will actually be held. Even if it’s not raining at 6:30pm, the grounds may be too wet to practice.
